Account and practice data
We process your email, optional profile details, sign-in identifiers, and practice activity to provide and secure your account. We process what you type or say, relevant practice context, transcripts, coaching results, and saved Pocket lines to provide coaching and let you reconnect and review practice. Voice sessions may be transcribed. Do not include sensitive information about yourself or others.
Google sign-in
Google provides your account identifier, email and basic profile information so we can authenticate you and connect you to your app account. We do not request Gmail, Google Contacts or Google Drive access.
Coaching memory
Ellie can retain situations, goals and practice attempts to provide context in future conversations. In Settings → What Ellie remembers, you can inspect, correct and delete these details, or turn memory off. Turning it off removes stored coaching memory; it does not delete your transcripts or Pocket lines. Memory controls remain available without an active subscription.
AI and voice processing
Before practice, the app asks for permission to send your conversation and relevant context to the providers listed below. You can decline, or withdraw permission in Account → AI-powered practice. Withdrawal stops future processing that requires this consent; end a live conversation to stop that conversation.
- Anthropic: Generates the coach’s replies. Receives: What you say or type, plus your practice context.
- OpenAI: Generates roleplay feedback and may generate replies or practice tips. Receives: Your conversation transcript and relevant practice context.
- Deepgram: Turns your speech into text. Receives: Your voice audio during voice practice.
- Cartesia: Turns the coach’s replies into speech. Receives: The coach’s written replies.
- LiveKit Cloud: Carries the live conversation and reduces background noise. Receives: Your live audio and messages during a session.
- Supabase: Stores your account and practice history. Receives: Your account details, transcripts, and saved lines.
Our hosting providers deliver the app and process operational requests. Provider processing and retention are subject to the applicable service arrangements. We do not promise that third-party processing is anonymous or that deleting this app instantly removes every provider log.
Onboarding and analytics
This policy describes the native app. Visits to this marketing website are also covered by the Socially Healthy website privacy policy.
Native questionnaire answers are stored on your device to resume onboarding. The questionnaire is for reflection and does not automatically configure your paid coach. You can explain your preferences during practice.
We use Mixpanel for product analytics such as navigation, selected option identifiers, subscription outcomes, and device/browser information. Events can be linked to your account identifier. Native session replay is disabled; the native purchase integration does not send purchase identifiers to advertising networks. Web analytics may differ from native analytics.
Subscriptions
Apple or Google processes store payments. RevenueCat helps verify purchases, renewals and restores. We process app account identifiers, store product and transaction identifiers, subscription status and expiry to provide access and support. We do not receive your full payment card details from the store.
Notifications and device storage
If you opt in to notifications, we store your device token and chosen purposes and use Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivery. You can change preferences in the app and permission in device settings. Local storage and session cookies support sign-in, onboarding resume and purchase recovery.
Retention and deletion
Practice transcripts and results remain in your account until you delete them where supported or delete your account. You can delete your account in Account → Delete account, including without an active subscription. This removes account and practice data handled by the deletion flow and clears app account data on this device.
Limited billing, transaction and security/audit records may be retained for financial obligations, fraud prevention, disputes and payment-event integrity. Billing records are detached from the deleted login but may retain transaction identifiers and the original internal account identifier. Provider operational logs and backups may follow separate retention schedules. Contact us with requests concerning retained data.
Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a store subscription. Manage or cancel it through your App Store or Google Play account; you can still delete your app account immediately.
Your choices and rights
Contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion, or ask about processing and international transfers. Rights depend on your location. We share necessary data with service providers for the purposes described here, do not sell your data, and use access controls to protect it. No security measure is absolute.
Age and policy changes
This service is not intended for children under 16. It offers communication practice, not medical diagnosis or treatment. We will update this policy when practices change and request new AI permission when the consent notice materially changes.
